Pierre-Alexandre 2005

In Japanese martial arts, the first black belt rank is called shodan or “first step up the cliff.” So a black belt is not an end; it is where it truly begins, and I like to think the same of my doctoral degree: it is only the first step, and the end is nowhere in sight.

As long as there is something left to learn, I will stay a student.
